Sarah Coventry Pendant Necklace
A very pretty pendant necklace by maker Sarah Coventry, believed to be from the 1970s. The gold-look alloy pendant features a diamond shape with scrolled edges and an amethyst glass stone surrounded by six, round cut, clear rhinestones, all in good condition. The central stone is a dark purple colour which shines almost burgundy under some lights.
The pendant hangs on a fine-linked gold plated chain.
Stamped Sarah Cov GB to the reverse.
The Sarah Coventry company was so named after the founder's granddaughter. Popular in the 50s and 60s and produced until 1981, their jewellery was actually designed and manufactured by outside manufacturers and was most often purchased at home 'jewellery' parties where it was sold by "fashion directors".
