Christian Dior by Kramer Vintage 1950s Necklace
This vintage necklace was made for Christian Dior by American costume jewellers, Kramer, for the American market in the 1950s. Kramer of New York held the exclusive license to produce Dior jewellery for US market from 1948 and on into the 1950s.
This is a rare piece, absolutely a collector's item but beautiful as well. The necklace references a floral motif with the main clusters showcasing golden faux pearls, brilliant clear crystals and the filigree metal work that Kramer was famed for. Smaller flower-like links connect the larger clusters and form the main lengths. All the stones are prong set. The metal is plated with a burnished gold hue.
Stamped 'Christian Dior by Kramer' on the reverse of the central cluster.
