Vendôme Necklace and Earrings Demi Parure Blue and Aqua
This set from the 1960s was made by Vendôme, Coro's top-line brand. The necklace has two strands decorated with fat beads in shades of blue, blue-green and pale aqua. Some beads are faceted and others are artfully and partially painted. Small glass beads act as spacers. The earrings echo the necklace design and feature silver-tone leaves and clear rhinestones. The earrings fasten with clips and each has a screw back tension adjustment.
The earrings are signed Vendôme and the necklace has the Vendôme fleur-de-lys hang tag.
Dimensions:
Earrings - 3cm x 2.5cm
Necklace - 36cm along the shortest strand + 5cm extension chain
Vendôme
Vendôme was formed in the late 1940s as a subsidiary of Coro, the American costume jewellery manufacturer. The Vendôme line of jewellery was pitched at the high end of the costume jewellery market and was Coro's most expensive line. Vendôme jewellery was designed to emulate French fashions of the time and was marketed to elite ladies of the time. The company was known to use the best materials and the components were hand assembled. Vendôme closed in 1979.
How do you rate the condition of a piece?
Excellent - No visible flaws to note but items may exhibit some signs of age related wear
Very Good - Some visible flaws which aren't considered to impair the wearability of the piece
Good - Some more notable flaws but the piece is still in collectible condition
All items are vintage and have lived a previous life, therefore signs of age related wear are to be expected. I do my best to bring attention to any faults in the description and by using the condition scale.
