Trifari Pastel Crystal Brooch 1950s
This beautiful Trifari brooch is in such good condition that it's hard to believe it's from the 1950s! The silver toned rhodium plating has really stood up through the years and the pastel palette is more in fashion now than ever. It's quite large, measuring 8cm from tip to tail and 4cm in width.
Stamped 'Trifari ©' on the reverse.
Trifari was started in the early 1900s by an Italian immigrant to America, Gustavo Trifari.
Trifari were the first company to copyright their jewellery designs, doing so after a drawn out legal battle with another costume jewellery design company, Coro.
They patented their own non-tarnishing metal, Trifanium, which is why so many of their pieces survive in such excellent condition.
