Mitchel Maer for Dior Brooch
This brooch pin by Mitchel Maer for Christian Dior is in beautiful condition and features two strings of golden toned graduated faux pearls hung inside a chain of ivory and gold coloured metal pieces. These are connected to a signature Mitchel Maer open work top piece.
Signed to the reverse with an oval plaque on the interior showing 'Christian Dior By Mitchel Maer'.
Maer for Dior jewellery is very rare and very collectible because Mitchel Maer only created jewellery for the house of Dior for a short time between the years 1952 - 1956. This is a real piece of vintage history.
Please ignore the thread over the pin in the reverse image. It was there for the photograph only.
Christian Dior launched his fashion house in 1947 and from the beginning designed jewellery to complement the 'New Look' clothing he was creating. He used only the most talented and reputable companies to manufacture his jewellery designs. You'll see pieces for Dior by Kramer, Mitchel Maer, and Grosse.
All items were signed and many were dated.
