Gold Plated Leaf Brooch by Henkel and Grosse w Box 1960s

This textured, gold-plated leaf brooch was created by Henkel and Grosse in 1962.  It comes with an original Henkel and Grosse box and its satin lining. Henkel and Grosse have made jewellery for Christian Dior since the 1950s, making their own pieces highly collectable as well.  The company is well known for its skilled work with metal jewellery in particular.

Please note - Although the box is original, the lid of the box does not sit completely flat when the brooch is placed inside.
The brooch is in excellent condition without loss to the plating.  The rollclasp pin is in good working order.

It's stamped 'Grosse © 1962' on the reverse of the brooch.

Originally known as Henkel & Grosse, the German company dropped the Henkel part of the name and then 'Frenchified' the name further by adding an accent on the final e.  Well known for producing jewellery for Christian Dior, which they've done since the 1950s, Grossé has also produced their own line of jewellery since they opened in 1907.  The Grossé aesthetic is simple and elegant with pieces plated in gold or rhodium and minimally adorned.

How do you rate the condition of a piece?

Excellent - No visible flaws to note but items may exhibit some signs of age related wear
Very Good - Some visible flaws which aren't considered to impair the wearability of the piece
Good - Some more notable flaws but the piece is still in collectible condition

All items are vintage and have lived a previous life, therefore signs of age related wear are to be expected. I do my best to bring attention to any faults in the description and by using the condition scale.
