Ecco Rolled Gold Flower Brooch

This is a lovely vintage brooch by Canadian maker, ECCO, a company which was active in the early to mid 1900s.  The brooch is quite delicate, forming the shape of a flower on a stem, made in rolled gold.  The flower head and leaf have a brushed finish, with a polished perimeter.  The stem also features a polished golden finish.

Stamped 'ECCO RG' to indicate rolled gold.  Rolled gold is sometimes also known as gold filled and indicates a much thicker layer of gold than the usual gold plating.

The brooch's rollover clasp functions well and closes securely.

Ecco

ECCO, an abbreviation for the Electric Chain Company of Canada were active from 1916 to 1950.  They produced pretty pieces of jewellery usually made from Sterling Silver or rolled gold.

How do you rate the condition of a piece?

Excellent - No visible flaws to note but items may exhibit some signs of age related wear
Very Good - Some visible flaws which aren't considered to impair the wearability of the piece
Good - Some more notable flaws but the piece is still in collectible condition

All items are vintage and have lived a previous life, therefore signs of age related wear are to be expected. I do my best to bring attention to any faults in the description and by using the condition scale.
