Antique Green Enamel on Silver Ring Brooch Pin by John Atkins & Sons

This is a beautiful silver guilloché brooch with bright green enamel, stamped JA&S for John Atkins & Sons, a British silversmith from the early 20th century.  The brooch is a small, but perfect ring shape.  John Atkins & Sons were well known for their enamel work and beautiful Edwardian and Art Nouveau jewellery.

Stamps:  Cast marks 'STERLING' 'JA&S' 'SILVER'.  It's assumed that the lack of British assay marks indicates the brooch was made for a client commission.

Condition:  It's all in excellent condition without flaws in the enamel.  The back of the brooch is tarnished, as it is silver, but it will be left up to the client to decide if they would wish to polish the tarnish away.

Dimensions:  It's on the smaller side, measuring 2.5cm in diameter.

John Atkins & Sons

John Atkins & Sons was a British silversmithing company, famous in the Birmingham jewellery quarter for their fabulous silver jewellery, decorated with vibrant guilloché enamel.  The company was well known for its Edwardian and Art Nouveau pieces.  In the 1960s the company changed its name to Atkin & Sons.

How do you rate the condition of a piece?

Excellent - No visible flaws to note but items may exhibit some signs of age related wear
Very Good - Some visible flaws which aren't considered to impair the wearability of the piece
Good - Some more notable flaws but the piece is still in collectible condition

All items are vintage and have lived a previous life, therefore signs of age related wear are to be expected. I do my best to bring attention to any faults in the description and by using the condition scale.
