1930s Knoll & Pregizer Art Deco 935 Silver and Paste Dress Clip

SOLD

This diminutive dress clip is an exquisite example of vintage costume jewellery from the Art Deco period.  This fantastic clip by Knoll & Pregizer is decorated with clear crystals which would have been hand-set in 935 silver and features a striking sapphire blue paste cabochon.   Knoll & Pregizer pieces are highly sought after and it's easy to see why when viewing the quality craftsmanship of this sparkling piece.

Stamped 'KP' with the leg of the 'K' and the stem of the 'P' crossed, set within a shield shape.  It's hard to photograph but clear under magnification.  Also stamped 935, indicating silver, with additional stamps 'M' and '4a'.

In excellent condition without any obvious flaws to note.  Some age related patina to the metal in places.

Knoll & Pregizer

Knoll & Pregizer operated between 1887 and 1975 from Pforzheim Germany.  They are regarded as one of the top costume jewellery makers to come out of Europe and are sometimes compared to Cartier due to their precision work and beautiful designs.  Their costume pieces were primarily set in silver and were all marked KP.  Their Art Deco pieces are among the most sought after by collectors but all Knoll & Pregizer pieces are collectible due to their fine quality and rarity.

How do you rate the condition of a piece?

Excellent - No visible flaws to note but items may exhibit some signs of age related wear
Very Good - Some visible flaws which aren't considered to impair the wearability of the piece
Good - Some more notable flaws but the piece is still in collectible condition

All items are vintage and have lived a previous life, therefore signs of age related wear are to be expected. I do my best to bring attention to any faults in the description and by using the condition scale.
