William de Lillo Clamper Bracelet

This striking vintage clamper bracelet is from the early 1970s and was created by the highly collectible maker, William de Lillo.  It features two large mottled and ribbed green stones mounted centrally with the gold coloured band covered in smaller white polished stones.  The bracelet hinges open and the central join is totally hidden - very well designed.  The William de Lillo company often only made one of each piece so you'll be lucky to ever find another one like this!

Condition:  Overall in very good vintage condition.  A number of the white stones jiggle a bit in their settings and it's unclear to me if this was intentional, however,  all the stones are present and secure in their positions.  Under magnification I've noticed that one white stone has some surface cracks and another has an edge nibble, but nothing noticeable.

Signed 'de Lillo'  on an oval plaque attached to the reverse.

William de Lillo

The company was formed in 1968 by William De Lillo and his partner Roger E Clark, former head designer at Miriam Haskell.  De Lillo had honed his craft by working with the top jewellers of the 20th century, spending time at Tiffany & Co, Cartier and Harry Winston.   Together, they designed bold statement jewellery for men and women, with most pieces being one of a kind.  Their exclusive designs were hugely sought after by Hollywood royalty and actual royalty at the time, and because they produced jewellery only until 1976, it is hugely sought after by collectors today.   Some pieces are even held in the Met Museum collection.

How do you rate the condition of a piece?

Excellent - No visible flaws to note but items may exhibit some signs of age related wear
Very Good - Some visible flaws which aren't considered to impair the wearability of the piece
Good - Some more notable flaws but the piece is still in collectible condition

All items are vintage and have lived a previous life, therefore signs of age related wear are to be expected. I do my best to bring attention to any faults in the description and by using the condition scale.
